2016 Angus Youth National Judging Competition

The Angus Australia Foundation awards the University of Illinois Scholarship to the winner of the Angus Youth National Judging Competition every year.

The 2016 Angus Youth National Judging Competition will be held in conjunction with the New England Angus Breeders Tocal Beef Cattle Assessment course, Paterson NSW, September 26-28, 2016. Followed by a day near Gloucester, September 29, 2016.If you are an inspiring young cattle judge aged between 21 and 30 years, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

The winner of this competition will receive a scholarship valued at $10,000 to travel to the USA and attend the University of Illinois. Whilst in the USA the recipient will experience a whirlwind of events, from university classes, judging competitions and sightseeing across the United States whenever they can.

Entrants in the Angus Youth National Judging Competition will be required to judge a series of live cattle classes, attend an interview and demonstrate their knowledge of the beef industry during a quiz.

Members of Angus Australia from all states are welcome to enter, however previous judging experience is recommended. There is also no requirement for entrants to be currently undertaking tertiary education in Australia.

Since the scholarship was established in 1980, many of the winners have returned to Australia.
