Genetic Trends

Figures 1 and 2 illustrate the genetic trends in various growth, maternal and carcase traits and Figures 3 to 6 the trends for %Index Values over time in the performance recorded Angus population.

There has been a consistent positive genetic trend in all growth and maternal traits. For carcase traits, there has been a positive trend in average EBVs for Carcase Weight and EMA, a slightly positive trend in average EBVs for RBY% and IMF%, and a slightly negative trend in Rib and Rump Fat EBVs.
