If you want to participate in an Angus Australia Beef Cattle Assessment School this year you have only one more chance and that is at Keith, SA, from August 12-14. The Victorian school from August 1 to 3 is fully subscribed. This follows another fully subscribed school in Western Australia earlier this month. If you want to improve your cattle assessment skills and learn how to use performance information to get the results you want, this is an important opportunity for anyone involved or interested in the beef cattle industry. This course is suitable for both experienced and novice participants and involves both theory and plenty of practical hands on instruction. It will focus on the commercial use of steers, females and bulls across a range of breeds including cross breeds. The course will enable you to improve your skills in cattle assessment. It will teach you about cattle structure, how and why you select different animals for different markets, how to select your breeding females and bulls and how to use performance information in animal selection and carcase assessment to attain the results you want.
