A SPECKLED 10 GRAND
In an extremely generous move to encourage entries of steers at the NSW Beef Spectacular at Dubbo, NSW, from March 4 to 6, the Speckle Park Cattle Company has provided $10,000 prize money for the pen of three steers and the led steer competitions. The money will be distributed regardless of what breed wins so get your entries in. Enquiries to Graeme Bond on 02 6884 8355 or 0408 636 273. The results of the feedlot trial being run at Cargill’s Jindalee feedlot will also be announced at the Dubbo event which is an Angus Feature Show.

FEATURE SHOWS
Show enthusiasts have plenty to keep them busy in south-east Australia next year with Angus Feature Shows at Glen Innes, NSW (February 12-14 ), Dubbo, NSW (March 4 to 6 ), Crookwell NSW ( February 13) Newcastle, NSW (March 26 – 28) and Adelaide Royal (September 4). TAKESTOCK RESOURCES
TakeStock is an exciting benchmarking tool for the beef seedstock industry. It collates BREEDPLAN and Selection Index information to provide cattle breeders with a report that empowers them to assess and improve the rate of genetic progress in their herds. TakeStock reports provide eligible Breedplan members with figures for key variables that affect the rate of genetic improvement being made for breeding objectives. A series of eight one day TakeStock workshops have recently been completed across Australia.
