Calving has commenced for Cohort 9 of the Angus Sire Benchmarking Program (ASBP). Across four co-operator herds, this Cohort is set to produce approximately 570 calves, with calving to be completed by late August 2019.
The program to breed the calves utilised Cue-mate® devices and the Vetoquinol 3 event fixed time AI protocol with one round of insemination. For more see – www.repro360.com.au

There was a tie for the first calves born from co-operator herds Burindi and Waitara, which occurred on 27 June 2019.
The Burindi calf (green tags) was a heifer from ASBP sire NHZK416. The calf was born unassisted, with a birth weight of 27.5 kg and a gestation length of 273 days.
The Waitara calf (in calf cradle) was a male from ASBP sire BSCM6. The calf was born unassisted, with a birth weight of 28.5 kg and a gestation length of 272 days.
