Angus Australia is pleased to announce the appointments for the positons of Education Officer and Temporary Marketing & Communications Manager (Maternity Leave Position).
The Education Officer position has been filled by Elizabeth Roan
Liz has extensive experience in education and information technology roles associated with the livestock industries. Most recently Liz has worked as an Education Officer/Education Manager for the Poultry Co-Operative Research Centre (Poultry CRC) at UNE.
In this role Liz worked in conjunction with NSW TAFE and other Registered Training Organisations to develop and deliver training to poultry industry personnel, including writing, editing and publishing text books, learning manuals and assessment guides.
Liz has also previously worked in various roles as a Programmer, Senior Analyst, and Senior Consultant at the Agricultural Business Research Institute (ABRI) with responsibility for account management, software development and software maintenance for numerous of Australian and New Zealand breed associations.
Liz had key responsibilities in developing software for running of the National Beef Recording Scheme (NBRS), the development of the initial ABRI website, and establishment of websites for a number of ABRI’s breed association clients.
Liz has very suitable credentials and experience to make a major contribution to Angus Australia’s plans to significantly enhance our education and extension materials over the next couple of years. Liz will commence at Angus Australia on the 1st February 2016.
The Temporary Marketing & Communications Manager (Maternity Leave Position) has been filled by Elizabeth Pearson
Liz comes from a commercial Angus breeding operation near Guyra and has had filled a number of industry marketing and project management roles in the beef industry.
Liz’s most recent position was as a Commercial Development Officer with Herefords Australia, a role in which she worked closely with the feedlot sector and managed various research, extension and commercial projects including the Hereford Beef Information Nucleus (BIN) program.
Liz previously worked as a Sales Manager with Elanco Animal Health during which time she has made numerous contacts with the feedlot and processing sector and developed excellent industry knowledge.
Liz’s appointment for 4 months commences on the 4th January 2016, including several weeks overlap with our current Marketing and Communications Manager, Diana Wood, before she commences maternity leave in early to mid-February.
