Angus Australia wishes to advise that the December 2016 Angus TACE analysis has been completed and updated EBVs are now available.

With relation to the recent analysis, please note that a number of enhancements have been implemented:

  • Structural Soundness EBVs are no longer considered “Trial” EBVs, but are now considered as standard EBVs within the Angus TACE genetic evaluation.
  • Additional temporal genetic groups were included for animals born in Australia, New Zealand and North America.
  • Protocols for the collection of net feed intake measurements for inclusion in the calculation of NFI-P and NFI-F EBVs were updated.
  • A revised set of EPDs was included in the December 2016 analysis for imported American and Canadian Black and Red Angus animals.
  • A significant amount of new abattoir carcase data was included.

Now that the December 2016 analysis has been completed, the following reports are available to download from the “Files to Download” section of the Member Login area on the Angus Australia website. • File of updated EBVs for upload into compatible software programs **

Note: Due to a computer system error at ABRI, outlier reports were not generated from the December 2016 analysis. Any outlier records from this analysis will be included in the outlier reports that are generated as part of the upcoming mid-December analysis.

* Reports only generated for herds that have new post-birth data included since the last analysis.
** Files only generated for herds recorded with AA as using a compatible software program.

Please note, the TACE submission deadline for the Mid-December 2016 Angus TACE analysis was the 25th of November 2016, with results expected on December 12th, 2016.  This will be followed by the January 2017 Angus TACE, with a submission deadline of the 8th of December 2016 and results expected on December 23rd, 2016.  A friendly reminder all performance data submissions and Angus TACE enquiries should be directed to the Angus Australia office, rather than ABRI.
