2017 Livestock Behaviour Systems – Low Stress Stock Handling Clinic

June 28, 2017 11:56 am

Are you an Angus youth member between the ages of 15-20 who would like the opportunity to participate in a Low Stress Stock Handling Clinic?

The clinic is brought to you by Boyd Holden of Livestock Behaviour Systems and is to be held at ‘Oakbank’ Old Bonalbo, NSW from the 2nd to 6th of October 2017.

The clinic is limited to 10 participants. We have 2 scholarships to attend this clinic, with the remainder of the positions available for purchase at a substantially subsidised cost of $500 (valued at $2,000).

Included in this cost is training, accommodation, meals and transfers from Lismore/Brisbane/Gold Coast airports to ‘Oakbank’. If you are not flying to one of these airports, then it will be your responsibility to get yourself to the workshop.

The clinic will be a strictly no alcohol event.

The Clinic is targeted at young cattle enthusiasts, who are keen to better understand the behaviour of animals, learning guiding principles on how to communicate with  livestock, and fellow workers.

Upon completion of the clinic you will have learnt how to develop a livestock handling system or framework to help you manage challenges, minimise problems and more importantly solve them when they arise. In doing so, you will reduce the risk to yourself and workmates whilst maximising the welfare of your animals

Scholarship Applications close Friday 21st July 2017
