AuctionsPlus Eastern States Cattle sale 13 May, saw a strong offering of 7972 head listed. Along with the strong numbers listed, Angus cattle also performed exceptionally well taking top honours in every category in which they were represented.
After widespread rainfall last weekend the market jumped as restockers regained confidence going into the winter.
This rain brought stronger prices for young cattle, in particular heifers saw prices increased significantly on previous weeks.
Angus weaner heifers from Guyra NSW, weighing 294 kg made $1085 (369c/kg) and went to a restocker in Victoria.
In the south, a large offering of Angus weaned steers from Cooma NSW, weighing 280 kg made $1010 (360c/kg).
Also from Cooma, weaned Angus heifers weighed 212 kg and made $850 (400c/kg) and their lighter 180 kg sisters made $750 (417c/kg), topping the sale.
Numbers of PTIC females were slightly up on last week, however prices increased with more competition.
The tops of yearling PTIC heifers were Angus PTIC heifers from Uralla NSW, 403 kg, making $1500.
