Cattle numbers dropped significantly with the usual sale day missing for the AuctionsPlus Eastern States sale 24 Mar.

In steer sales, light Angus steers weighing 230kg in Victoria sold for $865 (376c/kg).

290kg Angus steers out of Walcha NSW made $980 (337c/kg).

The top priced steers were Angus steers, weighing 325kg in Victoria making $1197.

There were fewer heifer results to report.

Angus heifers out of Narrabri NSW, weighing 344kg sold for $1035 (301c/kg).

In breeder sales, PTIC Angus heifers at Walcha NSW, made $1450 to $1455.

In Cootamundra NSW, young Angus cows with calves made $2230 to $2390.
