Four talented young Angus enthusiasts recently participated in the World Angus Forum Youth Competition held in Scotland from June 21st to July 2nd 2017.
The team made up of Jasmin Ramage, Guyra NSW, Chloe Gould, Southside QLD, and Angus and Kati McGregor, Bell Qld, were put through their paces in a range of mentally and physically challenging events as part of the overall competition.
While the team did not finish in the top placings overall a number of team and individual efforts throughout the competition should be recognised:
The recipients of the scholarships represented Angus Australia proudly and were given the prospect to broaden their horizons and expand their knowledge about the world beef industry. Each participant thoroughly enjoyed their time in Scotland and are happy to share their experiences with you here.
My trip to the World Angus Forum in Scotland was a once in a life time trip and I would just like to say a massive thank you to Angus Australia for giving myself and the rest of the team the opportunity to go over and compete. Without their help and support this trip would not have been possible!
The World Angus Forum in Scotland was one of the most amazing opportunities I have been granted within the Angus beef industry. I am grateful for the opportunity Angus Australia enabled myself, Kait, Angus and Chloe to travel to Scotland to the World Forum to compete in the youth competition and to represent Angus Australia. I made valued networks with international delegates and representatives as well as broadening my knowledge on current issues faced worldwide.
A team of 4 competitors; Kaiti McGregor, Angus McGregor, Jasmine Ramage and I (Chloe Gould) were fortunate enough to represent Angus Australia at the recent World Angus Forum – Youth Program, which took place in Scotland from the 21st June till 3rd July 2017.
To be part of the world Angus forum in Scotland this year was an absolute privilege. I would like to say a massive thank you to the team from Angus Australia for getting us there and to our sponsors of the team. I would also like to thank everybody that made the whole event possible in Scotland.
