The Angus Australia Foundation awards two scholarships annually to give Angus Australia members the opportunity to participate in ALFA’s SMARTBEEF Conference.

SMARTBEEF 2017 will be covering a range of hot industry topics, including carcase feedback; value discovery techniques such as DEXA; supplementary feeding; value chain relationships; and the latest feedlot technologies.
Keynote speaker Carolyn Miller, Managing Director of The Honeycomb Effect, will apply her knowledge and experience to the marketing and branding of beef. Carolyn is well recognised as a thought leader in the creative industries and advertising and known for her role as a panellist on ABC’s Gruen Planet.
Attendees will tour Sundown Pastoral for a practical of: use of drones and satellite imagery technology, techniques for weight gain, livestock management, infrastructure design, seasonality of growth, animal health and backgrounding.
To be eligible for these scholarship’s, applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age and a current Angus Youth or Angus Australia financial member.
Each scholarship recipient will be provided with $1500 to help cover the costs associated with attending the conference, (for example; flights, accommodation and the conference registration fee).
