The first mob of ASBP Cohort 4 steers have completed their net feed intake (NFI) testing at Tullimba feedlot following 100 days on feed (including 70 days on feed test). This mob of 104 steers was bred at Burindi Station, Barraba NSW which is a Paraway Pastoral property managed by Richard and Ruth Puddicombe. They will now depart for a further 170 days on feeding at Rangers Valley feedlot.
As with all ASBP steers exiting Tullimba feedlot, the steers are weighed, carcase ultrasound scanned and structurally assessed. The NFI data will be analysed through TACE and in Progeny Performance reports once the data is captured on all the Cohort 4 steers.

Cohort 4 will see another two mobs of steers enter Tullimba Feedlot later in the year. The remaining mobs, of approximately 100 head each, are from co-operator herd Gilmour Pastoral, Boorcan VIC, and Springmount, Black Mountain, NSW. The Gilmour Pastoral steers are scheduled to enter for NFI test on the 8th December 2015.
