For Angus Australia Members that may be interested a series of Bred Well Fed Well (BWFW) cattle workshops will be run in South Australia during November.
The BWFW Cattle workshops highlight the benefits of using better genetics, plus managing feed and nutrition for improved reproductive performance and herd productivity.
Topics will include breeding better heifers and cows; improving heifer and cow nutrition; developing a breeding goal, and using Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs) in bull selection.
Participants will walk away with the skills and resources to build a genetics and nutrition regime suited to their environment and markets to boost herd profitability.
There will be three Bred Well Fed Well workshops held in the South East on the 20th, 21st and 23rd of November, and it will be excellent timing in the lead up to the SA bull buying season early next year.
The SA workshops will be delivered by renowned private consultant and lecturer at Latrobe University, Dr Jason Trompf, and local livestock consultant and PhD researcher, Penny Schulz (that’s me!).
Monday 20th November, Raven Limousin, Field (via Coonalpyn)
Tuesday 21st November, Glatz Black Angus, Avenue Range
Thursday 23rd November, Days Whiteface, Bordertown
