Friday’s AuctionsPlus sale 12 Aug saw cattle numbers continue to rise, jumping 3429 head on last week’s listing.
Young cattle continued to dominate the listings with breeder numbers slowly gaining their presence in the sale.
Offerings came from all over the country, ranging from Alice Springs in the NT, Mt Isa in QLD, through the eastern states and across to Dandaragan in WA.
Larger numbers inspired widespread interest from restockers, processors and feedlots, with a total of 519 individual bidders logging on to the sales.
Angus and Angus cross steers and heifers dominated the sale with 10 outstanding lots topping all markets
Special mention goes to Lot 553, (pictured in this story) 71 organic Angus cross steers, 8 – 12 months old, 278kg, from Quilpie, QLD making $1230 (442c/kg)
The sale saw standout breeder female lines of Angus cows and calves, which topped the market throughout all categories except one.
