Wet weather dampened numbers slightly In Friday’s AuctionsPlus sale, Fri 26 Aug, down on the previous week’s numbers.

Though the EYCI may have slipped, the results for young cattle bucked the trend with rises across most categories, with the overall average for Angus and Angus cross cattle 2.5% higher than all other cattle in these categories.

Highlights in young cattle sales included 74 Angus heifers, 296kg from Singleton NSW, selling for $1130 (421c/kg) and their heavier sisters at 308kg made $1421 (461c/kg).

In the PTIC females the top price of $2160 secured a line of PTIC Angus heifers from Boorowa NSW, heading to a new home in Victoria.
