Commercial Angus AuctionsPlus Report 8 July

July 13, 2016 2:08 pm

AuctionsPlus continues to witness Angus and Angus cross cattle dominating the categories of every sale, with Friday’s sale, 8 July no exception.

Angus and Angus cross cattle again top every available category in a strong and vibrant market.

Total listings this week were mostly dominated by feeder stock in the north which was readily available for restockers and feedlots.

Clearance rates tended to be down this week, but vendor expectation and urgency to sell wasn’t critical.

PTIC females and cows and calves were scarce this week with a line of Angus heifers from Tara, QLD, topping this category at $1,450 joined to Angus bulls due to calve in the spring.

A stand out line of Angus cross cows and calves from Wee Waa, NSW, topped the category at $2,040. The second calvers are joined to an Angus bull and have fresh, sappy Angus calves at foot with an average weight of 172 kg. The cow calf units will be traveling south, west to Condobolin, NSW to a lush oasis of green feed were large amounts of rainfall have fallen in the area over the autumn and winter months.
