Angus Australia members have access to a number of ways with which to order DNA services. To complete a paper-based order form;
2. Select the format you wish to complete the form in;
a. DNA Test Request Form – Excel – This form is designed for members looking to complete the form electronically before printing (This is the preferred method of submission via email).
b. DNA Test Request Form – PDF – This form is designed for members looking to print the form out in order to complete before returning to Angus Australia typically posted with the DNA samples.
3. Complete the form, which is composed of 4 parts over the 5 pages;
Page 1 – Provides an overview of how to complete the document
Page 2 – Membership details – You will be required to enter your membership details and complete the declaration.
Next members will need to select which one of the genomics lab they want all the samples to be tested with and specify the testing required. To view the current fees for DNA services CLICK HERE
Page 3 – If you have chosen to test with Zoetis, enter the details of the animals, the sample barcode and the requested testing into the table. If you are not testing with Zoetis leave the page blank.
Page 4 – If you have chosen to test with Neogen, enter the details of the animals, the sample barcode and the requested testing into the table. If you are not testing with Neogen leave the page blank.
The final page is an optional page which is only applicable if you are using parent verification either as a stand alone test or as part of the 50k products.
Page 5 – If you have chosen to parent verify and have possible alternative sires or dams from those used to register the calf, enter the details of the animal and the possible parentage. If you are not sure or are not parent verifying leave the page blank.
4. Once you have collect the DNA samples and completed the DNA Test Request Form, send both to Angus Australia, Locked Bag 11, ARMIDALE, NSW, 2350.
The DNA request form will need to be included with the samples to be tested to ensure a rapid transition through Angus Australia’s quality control checks. This will enable the sample to ship with any other samples received on the same day to be shipped to the lab within 24 hours.
5. Once the samples have been received by Angus Australia, results are expected to be published as part of a BREEDPLAN run within 6-8 weeks.
