Supplying your Mobile Number

If you have an existing account on Angus database search, but you don’t have your mobile phone on file with us, you can supply it here.  Simply click on the link and enter your username or email address. Then enter your password, as normal, and finally, enter your 10-digit mobile phone number.

Click on the button to supply your mobile. Make sure you are in mobile service range. You will receive a text message, letting you know that we have received your request.

Simply reply by text – just 3 letters – Y E S, and then hit send.

Once we receive your confirmation and acknowledge it, you can proceed to the signon screen, and sign in as usual.

Why do we need your mobile phone number?

We use mobile phone communication to provide an increased level of security for your account. By asking you to verify yourself via your trusted phone device, it stops other people from accessing your account, even if they know your password.

In time, once all users on the system have supplied their mobile phone numbers, our system may move toward a two-step verification process, similar to one used by many banking companies today. This will help us make sure that you are the only person accessing or modifying your account.  A two-step verification asks you to identify yourself in two ways, firstly, by something you know, such as your password, and then secondly, by something you have, such as a physical device. Using two-step verification reduces the risk of your account being hacked and will keep your account safe and secure.
