Journey to Genetic Improvement – 2018 Regional Forums

September 12, 2018 12:08 pm

The Angus Australia regional forums are back for 2018 with events scheduled across Australia during October.

The regional forums are free and open to anyone interested in Angus cattle and are a great way to catch up with Angus Australia staff and fellow Angus beef producers.

2018 will see the forums focus on a “Journey to Genetic Improvement”, providing participants with a series of presentations on the latest developments and services offered by Angus Australia, highlighting how they can be applied to both the seedstock and commercial sector. Topics include;

  • Genomic technologies: what can genomic testing deliver to your herd
  • Case studies on the value of genomic testing
  • What’s being achieved with the Angus Sire Benchmarking Program
  • Angus.Tech showcase: what has changed
  • What’s coming next for Angus breeders: Future programs and developments at Angus Australia

There will be a tutorial at the end for anyone who has specific questions regarding the use of Angus.Tech and members are encouraged to bring their laptop or ipad to use during the session.
