Angus Youth Development and Education Officer, Haylee Herriot will be departing Angus Australia towards the end of September. The team at Angus Australia would like to thank Haylee for the work she did in this position during her time here, and wish her and her family all the best in their future enterprises.

As a consequence, Angus Australia is searching for a highly motivated individual to fill the new role of Events and Youth Development Officer.


POSITION DESCRIPTION – Events & Youth Development Officer

Full time position in Armidale NSW.

Angus Australia is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Angus Australia team to assist in the planning and development of successful Angus Australia events, to implement an inspirational and innovative youth development program for young Angus breeders and facilitate the activities of the Angus Foundation.


Duties and Responsibilities will include:
  1. Work with the Marketing team to plan, develop and professionally deliver Angus Australia events, including but not limited to the Angus National Conference, the Angus Youth National Roundup, Angus Australia’s involvement at major industry events such as Beef Australia and coordination of forums and workshops as required
  2. Work with the Marketing team to identify and maximise opportunities for effective promotion and media coverage of Angus Australia’s events
  3. Work with the Marketing team to develop appropriate marketing material to be used to promote Angus Australia events
  4. Consult with Angus Australia’s management team to arrange speakers and event programs
  5. Maintain a web based calendar of up-coming events including Angus sales and Angus Australia activities.
  6. Work in consultation with the Angus Youth Consultative Committee in the planning and conduct of innovative youth development activities.
  7. Coordinate the Angus Foundation scholarships, awards and bursaries program
  8. Co-ordinate communications across the Angus Youth network, including maintenance of the Angus Youth website and social media profiles and development of Angus Youth eNewsletters.
  9. Development of written content for Angus Australia publications, including the Angus Bulletin and weekly eNews.
  10. Assist in the co-ordination and conduct of fund raising activities for the Angus Australia Foundation.
  11. Perform other duties as required.


Selection Criteria
  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent
  2. Experience with event coordination and fundraising activities
  3. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines
  4. Affinity with young people
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  6. Well-developed computer skills
  7. Demonstrated interest in the beef industry
  8. Current drivers licence
