Two months on from the release of the NEW Interim Genomic Predictions, we want to thank you for the feedback you have shared so far. Your input is helping us refine and strengthen the way we deliver genomic information to members.
A key theme from your feedback has been the need for greater precision when identifying animals at the top or bottom end of the genetic distribution—particularly when making decisions such as selecting the top 10% or culling the bottom 30%. In response, we are updating the reporting scale for both trait-based predictions and the Total Value.
What’s Changing?
Where to Access Your Updated Results
These updates will be applied directly to your existing results file. As with previous reporting, your data will be available in the download files section of angus.tech, under the DNA Services tab, in the file named:
“XXX-interim-genomic-predictions.csv”
(where XXX = your member ID)
As genotypes are processed and added to the analysis, newly available results will continue to appear in the same CSV file.
In Case You Missed It: Key Details about the NEW Interim Genomic Predictions
To ensure all members remain informed, here is a brief summary of the major updates released with the initial rollout of the NEW Interim Genomic Predictions:
Trait descriptions are detailed in the table below.

Additional traits—such as Calving Ease, Heifer Conception, ADG, DFI, Ossification and ImmuneDEX—may be added over time.
New Reporting Format (0–100 Scale)
E.g. Higher Weaning Weight (WW) genomic predictions indicate the animal is expected to produce progeny with heavier live weights at 200 days of age, due to superior growth potential. However, for Birth Weight (BW), higher genomic predictions indicate the animal is expected to produce progeny with lower birth weights and have fewer calving difficulties (i.e. greater calving ease).
