MEET TEAM SALTBUSH
Hailing from Dalby in Southeast Queensland, Charlie Salter operates U8J Cattle Company with his family while pursuing a veterinary science degree at James Cook University in Townsville. A dedicated cattle enthusiast, Charlie is particularly passionate about Angus genetics and aims to contribute to the industry through reproductive and production medicine. He sees the opportunity to represent the Angus breed on home soil as a rare and exciting privilege.
Chloe Plowman, is the 4th generation within her family which leads back to cropping, beef cattle production (feedlotting) and showing of cattle. This exposure from a young age is where Chloe developed a true passion and love for the industry. Chloe & her family own and operate an Angus stud, Ruby Ridge Angus on the outskirts of Kingaroy, QLD, consisting of stud and commercial breeders, selling bulls at an annual bull sale and then both retaining and selling females to build on genetics but also share genetics.
Previously with the Angus Youth which Chloe is very thankful for, she has seen herself complete a cadetship with NH Foods, attend a BeefEx Conference and tour Thomas Foods International. It doesn’t just stop there though, she is currently studying a Diploma in Agribusiness while working in Livestock Administration with GDL.
Chloe appreciates the opportunity to represent Australia at the World Angus Forum and is very eager to learn from industry professionals to further her knowledge and skills.
Matilda Salter also hails from Dalby, Queensland, where her family operates U8J Cattle Company. Growing up in a mixed cropping and grazing environment, she developed a strong appreciation for the cattle industry. Currently studying a Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery at JCU in Townsville, Matilda aspires to support the agricultural community as a rural and remote healthcare professional. She is honored to represent the Angus breed and the next generation of industry leaders at the World Angus Forum.
Ben Duddy grew up immersed in the Angus industry, with his family’s Killain Angus Stud in Tamworth. From an early age, he developed a passion for Angus cattle, gaining experience in junior judging, cattle parading, and meat judging at major Royal Shows. In 2024, Ben was named an MLA Red Meat Ambassador, further solidifying his industry involvement. Managing his family’s commercial Angus operation on King Island, Tasmania, has given him extensive hands-on experience in producing high-quality Angus beef, and he looks forward to showcasing his skills on the world stage.
Team Saltbush is ready to take on the challenge of the Zoetis World Angus Youth Competition, where they will compete against teams from around the world. Their combined experience, dedication, and enthusiasm for the Angus breed make them strong contenders in this global showcase of youth excellence in the cattle industry. As they prepare for the competition, Team Saltbush is eager to gain new insights, connect with like-minded peers, and proudly represent Australia and the Angus breed on an international platform.
