Spring has sprung, so are you ready to for your spring joining? Angus ESSENTIALS – AI Programs brought together some of the brightest and practical minds to provide you with all the tips and tricks you need to ensure a successful joining season. 

Dr Enoch Bergman, a practicing veterinarian and part owner of Swans Veterinary Services located in Esperance WA where he primarily provides bovine veterinary services, gave attendees an insight into the financial and fertility benefits from the use of fixed time AI, as well as tips and tricks for new players. 

Julie Pocock, the Qld & NSW Territory Manager for Repro360, gave insights in to how to run an AI program, some practical boots on ground advice on how to achieve the best results and animal health considerations. 

And to wrap up it, Anthony Pearce, co-managing partner from Hills Farm Supplies, Mount Barker SA, an expert in ruminant nutrition and pasture agronomy, looked at the basics of ruminant nutrition and the important considerations for nutrition in the lead up to AI programs.

Angus ESSENTIALS – Sale Preparation 

For most seedstock operations bull sale day is the culmination of a couple of years of planning and hard work. So the big question is have you got all the information at hand that you need ready to ensure smooth preparation of your sale catalogue? 

The latest webinar in the Angus ESSENTIALS series, ‘Sale Preparation’ will take place September 29th from 7pm AEST and give you all the tips and tricks you need to know to help you with your sale catalogue production, as well as some of the adverting. 

While the webinars are released after each session, joining live means that you are able to directly interact with Angus Australia staff and ask any of those burning questions you may have! 

The Angus ESSENTIALS webinar series is designed to be a starting point for people considering the registered cattle business and for new members to Angus Australia to understand the full range of breeding and genetic tools or existing members to brush up on their knowledge and skills.  The series will provide information and advice from leading industry speakers for attendees to learn how to extract the most value out of breeding decisions, registrations and record keeping, genetic evaluation and creating practical performance recording and genotyping strategies, conducting artificial breeding programs through to the considerations of marketing and preparing for sale.
