Meet the team behind Roundup 2027
Planning is underway for the 2027 Angus Youth National Roundup, with the Organising Committee already at work to bring the event to life in Bendigo, Victoria, from 13-17 January 2027.
Angus Australia is pleased to announce Lilli Stewart as Chair of the 2027 Angus Youth National Roundup Organising Committee, leading an enthusiastic team who bring their ideas, experience and knowledge to help shape the 2027 event.
Joining the team is newly appointed Roundup Coordinator Zoe Sparks of Spectacular Events Pty Ltd. Zoe will work closely with Angus Australia and the Roundup Organising Committee to coordinate the planning and delivery of Roundup 2027.
Roundup has long provided young people with the opportunity to develop practical skills, build industry knowledge, make connections and form friendships that extend well beyond the event itself. The 2027 team is looking forward to building on that tradition while bringing new ideas and energy to Bendigo.

| Zoë Sparks has been firmly entrenched in events, travel and tourism throughout her career and has her Conference & Event Management company – Spectacular Events Pty Ltd – since 1998. In recent years Zoë has worked on a number of major events, conferences and festivals including Beef 2024, Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, National BreastScreen Conference, RockyNats 05 & 06, Horizon Festival, The Curated Plate, Food Agribusiness Network’s (FAN) ‘Meet the Makers’, and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the Australian Deaf Games.
Spectacular Events Pty Ltd was inducted into the Sunshine Coast Business Awards’ Hall of Fame in 2005. Zoë herself has been recognised as a former Sunshine Coast Outstanding Business Woman of the Year and a two-time Telstra Business Women’s Qld Finalist. Zoë has also held a number of Board and committee positions and is a GAICD. She currently is as a Board Director of Visit Sunshine Coast, and sits on the Executive Committee for SCEIA (Sunshine Coast Events Industry Association) and the Sunshine Coast Events Board – Strategic Advisory Group. Zoë is also a proud Judge for the Queensland Tourism Awards and Sunshine Coast Business Awards. |
| Lilli Stewart grew up on a commercial Angus operation at Birregurra in south-west Victoria and developed her own stud, Waterlilli Angus. Since finishing school she has worked across Australia and North America as a station hand, farm hand and ranch hand, gaining experience across a range of production systems. Lilli is now completing a Bachelor of Business (Agribusiness) at Marcus Oldham College and continues to build her experience across the wider agricultural supply chain.
Angus Youth and Roundup have played a significant role in Lilli’s development. She attended her first Roundup in 2010 and has been involved with the committee since 2018. For Lilli, Roundup is about building friendships, confidence and industry connections while giving young people opportunities to learn, challenge themselves and grow within the beef industry. |

| Emily Machar is from the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria and has recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Agriculture. She has a strong interest in the beef industry, particularly Angus cattle, genetics and beef production. Her passion for agriculture has been influenced by her family connections to the industry and her partners involvement in an Angus stud.
Emily is excited to be part of the 2027 Angus Youth National Roundup Committee and values Roundup for the opportunities it provides young people to expand their knowledge and develop their passion for Angus cattle and the broader agricultural industry. She also sees the event as an important opportunity for participants to network, build lasting relationships and connect with others who share their enthusiasm for agriculture. |
| James Paton is passionate about the Australian Angus industry and is currently working as a Farm Hand at Moorunga Angus while studying a Bachelor of Agriculture at Charles Sturt University. Through his work, James is developing his knowledge of genetics, animal welfare and seedstock production with aspirations to build a long-term career in the beef industry.
James attended his first Angus Youth National Roundup in 2026 and was hooked from start to finish. He values Roundup for the opportunity it gives young people to learn, network and connect with others who share their passion for Angus cattle. As part of the 2027 Committee, James is looking forward to helping create an event that inspires, educates and brings together the next generation of Angus leaders. |
| Micquella Grima’s passion for the livestock industry began in childhood and has developed into a strong commitment to supporting and advocating for young people in agriculture. She graduated from the University of New England with a double degree in Agriculture and Agribusiness, specialising in livestock nutrition, genetics and marketing.
Micquella is the National Network Marketing Coordinator for Nutrien Ag Solutions, where she supports regional marketing initiatives across Australia and helps showcase the strength and competitiveness of Australian agriculture. She also oversees the marketing of Nutrien’s stud sales across the southern states. Outside of her professional role, Micquella co-owns and operates Bull Creek Pastoral Company with her partner in the Riverina region. |

| Sophie Halliday grew up at Wildes Meadow and has been involved in the Angus industry through the family stud, J & C Angus. Currently residing in Chinchilla, Sophie is working as a station hand at Palgrove Station. Competing at Roundup since she was seven years old has given Sophie experiences, friendships and opportunities that have shaped her Angus journey along the way.
Sophie is really excited to be involved with the Roundup 2027 Committee and, most importantly, give back to the youth. Helping provide the next generation with the same opportunities to learn, compete, meet new people and build connections within the Angus community that she has been lucky enough to experience over the years. Making Roundup 2027 a memorable event for everyone is the driving force behind Sophie being involved in the committee. |
