Angus Interbreed Success at Melbourne
Angus exhibits continued their success in Royal Show Interbreed Competitions taking out a number of the categories.
The Junior and Grand Champion Angus bull, Moorunga Raindance T25, exhibited by Moorunga Angus was crowned the Supreme Junior Champion Beef Breed Bull.
While Senior Champion Angus Bull, Hollywood Smokin’ S57, exhibited by Hollywood Angus, won Supreme Senior Champion Beef Breed Bull.
In the female section Junior Champion Angus Female, Flemington Dandaloo T49, exhibited by Flemington Angus was awarded Reserve Supreme Junior Champion Beef Breed Heifer.
In the Angus ring, a four year old cow with twin bull calves Merridale Clydie Q24, exhibited by Merridale Angus took out the penultimate prize in the Angus ring, being sashed as the Supreme Champion Angus Exhibit after earlier winning Senior and Grand Champion Angus Female.
Judging the Angus was, Aimee Bolton from Bolton Girls Angus and Red Angus who was honoured to be judging the Angus, having grown up in the Angus Youth program and now heavily involved in helping shape the future of the Angus Youth program through her roles on the Angus Youth Consultative Committee and NH Foods Angus Youth Roundup organising committee.
Angus and Angus cross exhibits also experienced success in the Beef Carcase Competition, including Grand Champion Carcase! Full report on this to come.
