Thomas tops the RAS Youth Competition

After a successful day in the ring Angus Youth member Thomas Duddy took out the top prize during the RAS Youth Competition at the recent Sydney Royal Easter Show, being awarded the Grand Champion Parader.

Thomas, Killian Angus, Tamworth, competed against 30 other competitors to take out the Parader element of the competition, with overjudge Hannah Powe, Goondoola Red Angus, Cargo, presiding over the ring.

When speaking to The Land, Miss Powe said of Thomas’s performance, “I really like how Thomas paraded and the flow he had with his animal while in the ring,” Miss Powe said.

“An animal that flows with its parader will walk around the ring smoothly, be very eye catching and that’s exactly what Thomas and his animal did.”

Despite his young age, Thomas has a long history with Angus Youth, competing in numerous Angus Youth National Roundups.  He also has extensive experience in the showring, having competed at a number of Youth Shows around the country.
