Vale Don Lawson (OAM) – Honorary Life Member
Angus Australia wishes to express its sympathy to the family of Don Lawson, who passed away on August 2nd, 2025.
An early advocate and adopter of performance recording, Mr Lawson had history with the Angus breed stretching several decades, beginning in 1969 with the development of the then Ythanbrae Angus stud.
Mr Lawson and his wife Jenny were recognised as honorary life members of Angus Australia in 2013 for their contributions to Angus breed.
“Don was a very influential member of Angus Australia,” said Angus Australia CEO Scott Wright.
“He was a very progressive breeder and always enthusiastic in his beliefs and breeding philosophy. Don made a very significant contribution to the Angus breed in Australia and for that the breed will remember him.”
The funeral will take place 1.30pm Thursday August 7, at the Yea Shire Hall.
