The 2025 Neogen World Angus Forum officially began today in Brisbane, Australia, bringing together Angus industry leaders, producers, and innovators from around the globe. With the theme “Beef for a Better Planet,” this year’s forum aims to address the critical challenges and opportunities facing the beef industry.
The event was formally opened by Hon. Dr. Jeannette Young AC PSM, the Governor of Queensland, followed by a welcome from Sinclair Munro, President of Angus Australia. The opening address was delivered by Hon. Anthony Perrett MP, Queensland’s Minister for Primary Industries, who highlighted the importance of sustainable beef production to both the Australian economy and global food security.
The first day also featured a lineup of influential keynote speakers, including:
- Mr. John Eales AM – former Wallabies captain and successful entrepreneur, who shared insights on leadership and resilience.
- Michael Crowley – Managing Director of Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA), who presented an industry outlook on beef production and the evolving global protein market.
- John Stika – President of Certified Angus Beef, who discussed the success and future direction of one of the world’s most recognized branded beef programs.
- Simon Corah – CEO of Growth Mantra, who emphasized the importance of effective storytelling in promoting beef to modern consumers.
- Simon Quilty – Director at MLX Pty Ltd, who provided a detailed analysis of global beef market trends and the challenges facing producers.
- Dr. Anneline Padayachee – Nutritional food scientist, discussing the critical role of red meat in human nutrition.
- Prof. Frank Mitloehner – Expert in livestock emissions, leading a panel on the role of livestock in climate solutions.
- Scott Wright – CEO of Angus Australia, presenting on the past, present, and future of Angus breeding.
- Mark McCully – CEO of American Angus Association, discussing global breed evaluation and genetic trends.
With a packed schedule of presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, the forum promises to set the stage for a vibrant future for the global Angus industry.
