The Kansas State University Scholarship, proudly supported by the Angus Foundation, offers one passionate Angus Australia member the chance to experience a semester abroad at one of the United States’ leading agricultural universities.
Valued at $15,000, the scholarship supports travel and tuition for a full semester at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, where beef cattle education and research are front and centre. With access to commercial and seedstock herds, a university feedlot and feed mill, and world-class academic staff, recipients are immersed in a hands-on and globally relevant learning environment.
As a visiting scholar, recipients attend classes aligned with their interests — including animal science, genetics, beef production, global food systems leadership, and agricultural economics. Beyond the classroom, they engage in practical learning through university livestock operations, assist with major events such as the K-State Angus Bull Sale, and gain insights from leading industry professionals.
The experience extends beyond campus, with opportunities to visit commercial and seedstock producers, attend national events like K-State Cattlemen’s Day, national livestock shows, and the National Cattle Industry Convention. Scholars also visit the American Angus Association headquarters in Missouri and may gain additional hands-on experience on U.S. ranches.
This scholarship is designed for Angus Australia members aged 18–27 who demonstrate a strong commitment to the Angus breed and the beef industry, a proactive approach to learning and leadership, and a desire to expand their knowledge through international experience.
Whether you’re interested in genetics, nutrition, production, or industry leadership — the Kansas State University Scholarship offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to broaden your perspective, build global networks, and accelerate your future in the beef industry.
