2027 Angus Youth National Roundup

The road to Bendigo has begun! The 2027 Angus Youth National Roundup will bring young beef industry enthusiasts from across Australia together in Bendigo, Victoria from 13–17 January 2027 for five action-packed days of education, competition, leadership development, industry engagement and of course, cattle.

For almost four decades Roundup has provided young people with a place to learn, test their skills, build friendships and discover opportunities within the Australian beef industry. In 2027, another generation will become part of that story.

About the Angus Youth National Roundup

The Angus Youth National Roundup is Angus Australia’s flagship youth development event and provides a learning platform for anyone aged between 8 and 25 years with an interest in the Australian beef cattle industry.

While cattle preparation, handling, showing and judging competitions remain a much-loved part of Roundup, the event extends well beyond the show ring. Education, leadership development, industry engagement, networking opportunities and team building activities provide participants with the opportunity to develop practical skills and broaden their understanding of the Australian beef industry.

Participants don’t need years of showing experience to become involved. Roundup brings together young people with vastly different levels of cattle experience and provides an environment where they can learn from one another, as well as from some of the Australian beef industry’s leading professionals.

From practical cattle skills and judging through to genetics, commercial beef production, processing, marketing and career opportunities, Roundup provides an experience that stretches across the beef supply chain and well beyond the show ring.

Behind every Roundup is a dedicated organising committee helping turn months of planning into several action-packed days.

The Angus Youth National Roundup Organising Committee works collaboratively with Angus Australia and the event coordinator, providing knowledge, guidance and recommendations throughout the planning and delivery of the event.

The 2027 team brings together a diverse range of experience, ideas and industry knowledge to help shape the Bendigo event. Their involvement extends across the participant experience, event activities, Gala Dinner, prizes, catering, sponsorship and partnership opportunities, marketing and promotion.

Roundup is designed to provide a learning platform for young people with an interest in the beef cattle industry, regardless of whether they arrive with years of cattle experience or are only beginning to find their feet.

For returning competitors, Bendigo offers another opportunity to reconnect with friends, build on existing skills and challenge themselves. For first-time participants, it is an opportunity to learn, meet new people and become part of the Roundup community.
