Angus Australia was proud to be represented at Cattle Australia’s Cattle Connect conference, bringing together industry leaders, producers and researchers to discuss the future of the Australian beef industry.

Dr Liam Mowbray and Jake Bourne, Business Development Executive, delivered field sessions at the Charles Sturt University Research Feedlot, showcasing the Angus Sire Benchmarking Program (ASBP) and Angus Australia’s HeiferSELECT genomic product, powered by Angus GenetiQ.

Attendees had the opportunity to see ASBP Cohort 15 steers undergoing net feed intake testing in the feedlot, alongside Cohort 15 heifers in the paddock undergoing natural joining.

These sessions provided a practical demonstration of how genetic research and genomic technologies are helping Angus breeders make more informed breeding decisions and drive ongoing genetic improvement.

Angus Australia COO Carel Teseling also contributed to a panel discussion exploring what will drive the next decade of the beef industry, including global demand, consumer trends and product credentials.

CEO Scott Wright, Carel, Jake and Liam also attended Friday’s National Beef Leaders Breakfast, celebrating the newest cohort of National Beef Leaders.  It was a great opportunity to connect with industry colleagues, showcase Angus Australia’s research and innovation, and celebrate the next generation of beef industry leadership.
