Angus For Every System Feedlot & Carcase Trial – New Dates Announced
The Angus for Every System Feedlot & Carcase Trial, proudly hosted by Teys Australia and powered by Optiweigh, is shaping up to be one of the most significant events for Australian beef producers in 2026. Designed to deliver performance insights, genetic validation and industry recognition, the trial offers a comprehensive platform for producers to showcase and improve their herds.
A Complete Performance Picture
Producers participating in the trial will receive regular updates on cattle performance, with daily weight gains live-streamed through Angus Tech. “This trial is about transparency and giving producers real-time data to make informed decisions,” said Jake Bourne, Business Development Manager at Angus Australia.
Post-processing, participants will receive detailed carcass feedback, including MSA grading and eating quality assessments. All animals will be scanned on induction, ensuring accurate benchmarking against industry standards. “We want producers to see exactly how their cattle stack up and where improvements can be made,” Jake explained.
Driving Genetic Improvement
Every animal in the trial will undergo genomic testing using SteerSELECT, providing predicted traits and breed content data. According to Jake Bourne, “Genomic testing is a game-changer. It allows producers to validate their breeding programs and make decisions that will improve herd performance for years to come.”
Celebrating Excellence
The event will recognise top-performing teams across feedlot performance, carcase quality and eating quality, with classes for 100%, 75%, and 50% Angus content. “This is more than a competition; it’s a celebration of the quality and innovation within our industry,” Jake said.
