Are you ready to broaden your perspective on Angus production and leadership beyond Australia?

The TransTasman Exchange offers a unique opportunity for a young Angus member to experience the New Zealand beef industry first hand while building international networks and developing skills that support future leadership in agriculture.

Designed to foster cross cultural learning and leadership development the exchange connects young agricultural professionals across Australia and New Zealand through a structured and immersive industry experience.

About the TransTasman Exchange

The TransTasman Exchange has a long standing history of supporting Angus youth to explore different beef production systems across Australia and New Zealand.

Each year one Angus Australia member aged between 18 and 30 is selected to travel throughout New Zealand, spending a minimum of four weeks visiting seedstock and commercial beef enterprises. The program allows the successful applicant to observe breeding programs, production systems and management approaches while learning directly from leading producers.

The exchange encourages participants to step outside their familiar environment, expand their thinking and bring fresh ideas back to their own operations and communities.

What the Exchange Includes

The successful applicant will receive a $3,000 scholarship to cover:

  • Return airfares to New Zealand
  • Spending allowance
  • Assistance to plan and coordinate a tailored industry tour
  • Support from the Angus Australia network including staff members and producers to shape a tour aligned to individual interests

A Leadership Experience Across the Tasman

Angus Australia Extension Manager Nancy Crawshaw encourages young people who are motivated to grow their skills knowledge and networks to apply.

“The TransTasman Exchange is a leadership experience that connects young people with the best of New Zealand agriculture.
