Discover the Queensland Production Tour Experience
The Queensland Production Tour offers a unique journey through the heart of Australia’s cattle country. Set to take place from October 13th to 16th, 2025, this event is crafted for young members eager to learn more about the beef supply chain. Beginning in Roma and finishing in Brisbane, the tour offers the opportunity to experience operations rarely accessible to the public. If you are between 18 and 35 and interested in expanding your knowledge, this tour should be on your radar.
Participants will visit standout locations like the Roma Saleyards, which sees over 400,000 heads of cattle every year. Additional stops include U8J Angus, ACC Brinley Park Feedlot, Four Daughters Feedlot, ACC Abattoir in Brisbane, a commercial property tour and a state-of-the-art laboratory tour. Each site provides a valuable perspective on the journey from paddock to plate, emphasising the processes and people responsible for world-class beef production.
The tour itinerary covers every stage of the beef industry. Participants learn about beef breeding, backgrounding, feedlotting and processing. This comprehensive exposure is especially beneficial to those preparing for future roles in agriculture and food production. The opportunity to observe a supply chain operated with tight control and high standards boosts participants’ competencies and confidence.
The tour also provides the chance to build valuable connections, share ideas and receive information from professionals who have shaped the field. Such networks often provide support and opportunities far beyond the duration of the tour itself.
