Changes to Angus Australia’s DNA Processes
Angus Australia wishes to advise that we are updating the DNA submission process for Australian members to streamline operations and reduce turnaround times for DNA results.
What’s Changing?
Members will continue to submit DNA request forms to Angus Australia. Once processed, a Member Services Officer will email the relevant paperwork. This paperwork must be PRINTED and included with the DNA samples and posted directly to the chosen laboratory.
Key Guidelines:
Packaging Samples: TSU samples must be securely packaged (preferably in TSU racks) to prevent loss or damage during transit.
Additional Samples:
Any samples received at the lab that are not listed on the DNA request form will be held for 7 days. Members must notify Angus Australia which animals they belong to and what tests are required. If no contact is made within 7 days, the samples will be returned to Angus Australia.
Incorrect Barcodes:
Samples with barcodes that do not match the DNA request form will also be held for 7 days pending clarification. After this period, they will be returned to Angus Australia.
Missing Samples:
If an order arrives with missing samples, those specific tests will be cancelled.
Storing Samples:
Samples intended for storage must be marked clearly on the DNA request form by placing an “X” in the “STORE ONLY” section or through the online DNA request module.
Additional Costs:
Please note that additional fees will apply for any DNA samples or orders sent to the Angus Australia office, along with any associated postage costs.
We hope these amended guidelines result in greater efficiencies for all. For further assistance, contact our Member Services Team at (02) 6773 4600 or email regos@angusaustralia.com.au
